THE MESSENGER

Fierce Festival, Birmingham

For seven days Fornieles walked in a circle around a mound of chalk, topped with a wooden box. During this time people were invited to pass Fornieles written messages of hope or fear. At the end of the seven days Fornieles set light to the box of messages to reveal a statue of Hermes, the ancient Greek messenger God.
